You will find below a link to the output from our October Investment Strategy Committee meeting.

The ISC meeting took place on the first day of the recent stock market weakness and we are watching with interest to see how this period of volatility shakes out, see the link for our current view. Donald Trump continues to surprise in terms of his “Presidential” behaviour, which is trickling down to his supporters and even his nominees. We are interested in the result of the US mid-term elections and their potential economic implications and this is touched in the commentary. They say Politics and Sport should never mix… We say the same for Politics and economics. It remains to be seen whether there is a #metoo backlash post Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination and whether that is significant enough to derail Trump and the Republican party’s control of all branches of the US government. It may be that his supporters are quieter, but greater in numbers.  We will find out in November.

Please note that the document is a summary of certain views, which have been discussed at our Investment Strategy Committee meeting. We are always happy to discuss further anything touched upon or indeed any other investment or economic themes that may concern you.
